since moving to SF, i’ve gotten really into hosting things.
i started doing this when i first moved here because i did not know anyone and wanted to make new friends.
initially, it was pretty scary to host stuff because i was worried that no one was gonna show up or that i might be a bad host.
slowly the awkwardness of hosting stuff gets better but tbh it’s still there for me sometimes. but trust me, it’s worth it. i’ve made some really good friends through it that otherwise i would not have ever crossed paths with.
it’s something i’ve never imagined myself because its rare to host stuff in southeast asia and always started out to feel very awkward but now it has grown to become something fun to do.
whether it be hosting parties, dinners, board game nights, casual hangs, or impromptu camping trips. i’ve realized initiating and hosting things is important and feels extremely rewarding to bring people together.
after vibecoding so much, i’ve also realized i enjoy working with my hands and sort of miss doing medic stuff in the army like suturing and etc.
im currently learning manual on my 2004 Miata, and i love the feeling of understanding a machine by actually touching it, fixing it yourself, and getting better.
i even learned to replace the rear suspension of my SUV with just youtube videos and sweat.
i also have a busted 2002 WRX that i’m considering to do an engine swap.
